Video Production Process

To ensure that your video shoot is as effective as possible, we have developed a formula for success. The following steps will be implemented for every web video that we produce.

Pre Production

  1. Pre Production Phone Call - HQ’s video producer will contact you for a phone conversation where we will dig deep to find out all of the relevant information to come to the shoot prepared. Our producer will ask a series of questions so we can figure out the most effective angles to market. The purpose of the pre production call is to make sure all our ducks are in a row so you have an effective shoot filled with pertinent, usable information.
We take the information you provide us and put it through an “idea mill” – or in layman’s terms, we brainstorm potential concepts for the video. This process involves a lot of thought and creativity so we ensure that the look, feel, and tempo of the video will meet and exceed your expectations.
  2. Location Options – We will be in touch to decide the best location of your photo shoot. Our in house studio provides a controlled setting that will ensure a video shoot of the highest video, sound, and lighting quality. Alternatively, we can shoot at your location, or a combination of the two. The advantages of shooting at your location are more robust visuals and resources.
  3. Interviewees – As a part of the pre production process, we together will figure out who exactly will be a part of the video. As the owner of a business, you may have certain employees who you feel would be a great fit for a video segment. We will discuss their roles so we can come to the shoot prepared to ask them questions that will yield what we think are the most usable answers.

Production

  1. Production Process - Typically, a three-person crew will show up at the location of your choice prepared for an extremely efficient video shoot. We like to interview the most passionate employees so your video comes across with enthusiasm, belief, passion, and talent. In order to build trust, we don’t script the videos. We will capture your employees speaking from the heart, because an unscripted shoot generates far more trust than professional voiceovers, scripts, and glitz n’ glamour. A typical shoot will last about 3 hours.

Post-Production

  1. Video Editing - We will capture hours of high definition footage on our shoot. We will have Chris, our editor/videographer sort through all of the footage and select the most passionate, meaningful, and enticing segments and set it aside for the storyboard process.
  2. Storyboard - Every successful video needs to have a story. No we don’t mean the history of your business. Rather, we create an extremely compelling video that flows seamlessly and exudes a warm, extremely inviting tone. No corny transitional effects to put together a story. We use your words; our conversation to build a story that will be far more meaningful than what you typically find from our competition.
  3. Music Selection – depending on your particular storyboard, we will choose music that emphasizes the feel and tone of your video. We want to make your words explode with meaning and passion.
  4. Animation, Titles, and Effects - to complete the package, we subtly use effects and animations that will embellish your video. Using final cut and Adobe Flash, we will use these effects and animation to give your video an extremely professional and upbeat feel.
  5. Compression – After we have your storyline, effects, and appropriate content lined up, we will compress the videos into a widescreen, HD format. We want the quality of these videos to make your website come alive and pop off the screen, which is why we have chosen a higher quality level of compression.
  6. Proofing – Upon Completion, we will send your our final product. You are never charged a cent until you love the video, so if you need any single aspect modified, we will gladly tweak until it meets your expectations. After you approve the video, your payment is processed.
